PURPOSEOur reason for being

Technology and people, fully alive, create wonderthe world has yet to see.

EEFUL Holdings, Inc.

01WHY

It began with efficiency.

Care is work that exists so people can be there for people. Yet in practice, the hours went to recording, transcribing, checking and reporting. Most of the work was aimed not at the person in front of you, but at paper and systems.

So we brought in technology. Not to cut people, but so that people can get back to what only people can do.

When the load lifts, something interesting happens. People who used to work through their instructions start thinking for themselves. “We could do this better” starts coming from the front line. Voices change. People come alive.

And people who come alive make things no one imagined. Care becomes more than “support.” Wonder the world has yet to see begins to rise from the care front lines of the very country said to have the fewest hands to spare.

Our purpose is exactly this sequence, put into words.

Technology doesn't come first. Technology exists so that people can come alive.

02THE KITE

See all of society, like a kite, and stay tied to one person.

The EEFUL logo is a kite formed from the letters E, F and L. When we changed our name, we wrote down its meaning: “A kite looks out over the wide world while staying connected to one person.” Seeing the whole, while looking at every individual. The words of our purpose say what this kite has been saying all along.

  1. A person standing alone in a meadow, holding a line that stretches up into the sky

    I

At the end of the line, there is always one person

A kite doesn't simply float in the sky. It stays up there because someone on the ground is holding the line. However wide our view of society, the one at the end of the line is always a single person. That is why we never leave the front line.

  2. A green kite tilting hard as it meets the wind head-on

    II

It only rises into the wind

A kite won't rise with the wind at its back. Only by meeting the wind head-on does it gain lift. By 2040, one in three people in Japan will be 65 or older. What we face is an unmistakable headwind. It is also exactly what it takes to rise.

  3. A hazy town and hills seen from the height of a kite

    III

The higher it flies, the farther it sees

The more line you let out, the higher the kite climbs and the wider its view. Technology is the work of letting out that line. What begins at a single care site eventually reaches a height from which it can see the whole industry, and the world beyond.

Three people running with arms raised across a windswept meadow

Leave a kite alone and it falls. You pull, you let out line, you run again. As long as the hands on the ground keep moving, the kite stays in the sky. What is truly alive is not the kite up there. It is the person holding the line.

03THREE WORDS

Three words, unpacked.

Our purpose is a single sentence, but it holds three words, in a deliberate order.

  1. 01

    Technology

    Taking on the weight

We move the weight of the front line from people to technology: records, billing, gathering what is needed to make decisions. We aim for technology that fits in so naturally you forget you are using it. What we take pride in is not the number of features, but how much work has disappeared from the front line.

  2. 02

    People, fully alive

    Beyond free hands

Free time alone doesn't make people come alive. People come alive when they are trusted, make their own decisions and get to try things. So we put the same energy into building a place where people can move as we put into technology. Being fully alive is the opposite of moving on instruction.

  3. 03

Wonder the world has yet to see

    From a place without precedent

Japan's care front lines, at the leading edge of population aging, are already further down the road the rest of the world is about to travel. The answers we find here will be firsts for the world. That is why our yardstick is not “Did it improve?” but “Is there wonder in it?”

04STRUCTURE

Our words and our business stand on the same ground.

A purpose is not something to frame and hang on the wall. Unless why we exist and how we deliver are joined by a single line, it is just a slogan.

PURPOSE

Why we exist

Technology and people, fully alive, create wonder the world has yet to see.
APPROACH

How we get there

Enrich people's lives. Enrich industries.
BUSINESS

How we deliver

Care DX, products and business succession

05IN PRACTICE

How our business lives it.

Words can only be proven in the shape of a business.

  1. 01

    Qaito

A product for the care front line

We build what the front line touches every day. It takes on the weight of records, information sharing and billing, and turns staff time back toward people.

    Word it carries — Technology

  2. 02

    Care DX & management support

The power of the front line to improve itself

We don't stop at implementation. We stay alongside until the numbers are visible, the options are clear and the front line can make its own calls.

Word it carries — People, fully alive

  3. 03

    Business succession & M&A

Care that should continue, never cut off

We stop good care services from being lost simply because there is no successor. We take them over, bring in technology and set them in motion again.

Word it carries — Wonder the world has yet to see

06VALUE

The values we always hold to.

A purpose is not something to hold up, but a standard for everyday decisions. When in doubt, we come back to these three.

  1. I

    Good for Society

Care is work bound up with people's lives and dignity. So here, being good comes before being clever. Is it good for the person in front of us? Is it good for society? A decision that can't say yes to both, we don't make, however profitable it may be.

  2. II

    Explosive Drive

Measured against the size of the challenge, we are still not fast enough. So rather than one careful step at a time, we push through all at once. Careful until we decide, explosive once we have. Coming alive means exactly this drive.

  3. III

    Optimize the Whole

An improvement that makes things easier for your own team can create work for the team next door. What we must look at is always the whole. Just as a kite sees farther the higher it flies, we look at the business from one level above our own post.

07CAREER

Is this where you come alive?

We are looking for people who don't wait to be told. Care is unglamorous, heavy, and no one has the answers yet. That is exactly why there is no better place for people who can decide and act for themselves.

350 colleagues are coming alive in their own ways, on their own front lines. Next, it could be you.
